Christian Ethos

The PCW will understand the philosophy and Christian ethos of the PACE Trust and seek to work in the school community, teaching and leading by lifestyle and example. We believe that everything God wanted to say to the human race was wrapped up in a person – Jesus Christ.

The Christian ethos of the PACE trust gives us the core values that motivate us first to ‘be’ and then to ‘do’. Words that typify our values are: integrity, authenticity, accountability, servant hood, commitment, transformation, to name but a few. In other words it is who we are that speaks more loudly than what we do or say.

“The Pastoral Care Worker’s non-teaching role ensures that youngsters receive support promptly thus reducing anxiety and preventing problems escalating. The PCW 'frees up' valuable time for teachers (particularly senior managers) making the role very cost effective.

Parents recognise and value our Pastoral Care Workers and are increasingly seeking their support with pastoral matters. Parents are also more aware of our school's Pastoral Care Workers.

This knowledge is spreading throughout the school community and is enhancing our reputation for high levels of pastoral support”
