Training
The PACE Trust provides regular tailored training for the Pastoral Care Workers to ensure quality of practice and continuing professional development. The programme is designed around the learning needs of the PCWs and provides them with practical and Christian input enabling them to learn about topics that will help them in their work and to reflect together on good practice.
Included in the programme are networking sessions which provide pastoral care workers with regular opportunities to network with each other in their school pyramid. This provides opportunity to share practice and expertise, to have clear lines of communication and enable smoother transition of pupils from school to school.
PACE Training days
Three times a year PACE organises a training day. These days are open to all practitioners who work with children and young people.
The days provide an opportunity to network, learn and build on the skills and knowledge PCWs and child care practitioners already have. Topics covered have included: Eating disorders and body image, healing the breaks, working reparatively with attachment and child development issues and mentoring and coaching in practice.
