The Vision

The PACE Trust has been working with schools since 2000 to provide pastoral care to school communities in Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch. Pastoral Care is a set of systems, procedures and programmes which attempt to meet the needs of children and young people so that each child has the opportunity to reach his or her potential, and are equipped with the skills to cope with life.

Pastoral care addresses social, spiritual, mental, emotional and physical needs. Pastoral Care includes various counselling skills together with a wide range of supportive and helping strategies.

The quality of Pastoral Care influences the ethos and tone of a whole school. It creates an atmosphere in which children feel secure, know that they are valued and are encouraged in their learning, growth and social development within a healthy and safe environment. Good pastoral care will inform and reassure parents that their children are being educated in a safe and caring atmosphere.

The Pace Trust is committed to:

The need for children/young people to be engaged in school life and integrated into learning.

Providing and developing tailor - made training for Pastoral Care Workers.

Providing regular individual and group supervision for Pastoral Care Workers.
